The Dutch shogi association invites all for the 2024 Open Dutch shogi championship. This tournament is also open for foreign players.

International Shogi Forum 2024 qualification
This year from 7 till 10 November the ISF will be held in Tokyo, Japan. From the Netherlands one representative can be sent.
This will be the player of Dutch Nationality that achieves the highest place according to the NK results.
A player who participated in all the last two ISF tournaments (2014 and 2017) cannot qualify for this ISF.
The Japan Shogi Association will subsidize the following for this player:
- 100.000 yen (about 620 euro) for round-trip transportation expenses between the nearest international airport in the Netherlands and Haneda (or Narita) airport.
- 4 night’s hotel accommodations (from 7 to 10 November).
- Six meals will be provided from dinner on November 7 through breakfast and lunch on November 8, breakfast and lunch on November 9, and breakfast on November 10. The organizer will prepare the meals.
If the selected player rejects participation, then the next in line according to NK results who is of Dutch Nationality will qualify and so on.
Tournament information
The Open tournament is open for all shogi players.
For Dutch players:
Het NK Shogi is open voor leden van de Nederlandse Shogi bond. Verder mogen hier alleen 1) Nederlandse ingezetenen en 2) mensen die langer dan 1 jaar woonachtig zijn in Nederland in de afgelopen periode aan deelnemen.
Geïnteresseerden, die nog geen lid zijn van de Nederlandse shogi bond kunnen dat nog worden door zich aan te melden via info@shogibond.nl voor 8 mei. De contributie kan eventueel contant voldaan worden tijdens het NK. Aanmelding na 8 mei zal resulteren dat je alleen kan meedoen met het open deel.
Toernooi regelgeving
Het NK wordt onderverdeeld in een hoofd- en een open toernooi. Het hoofdtoernooi is een knock-out toernooi.
Het aantal ronden en de hoeveelheid bedenktijd is afhankelijk van het aantal deelnemers:
• Bij maximaal 8 deelnemers blijft dit beperkt tot 3 ronden (1 uur + 30 sec. byoyomi)
• Bij 9-16 deelnemers worden er 4 ronden gespeeld (45 min + 30 sec. byoyomi)
• Bij 17-32 deelnemers worden er 5 ronden gespeeld (eerste twee ronden, 30 min + 30 sec, ronden 3,4,5 bedenktijd 45 min + 30 sec.)
In geval van eventuele bye’s zullen die worden toegekend aan:
• Regerend kampioen
• Verliezende finalist
• Verliezende halve finalisten
• Overige bye’s door loting
De eerste vier van de eind ranglijst van het NK 2023 zijn geplaatst op de eerste plekken van de loting, indien deze spelers deelnemen.
De verdere indeling wordt aan de hand van de laatst geldende ELO lijst gedaan.
